Firefighters / Postal Lake Club
February 2012

PRESIDENTIAL NOTES
January is almost over and it's been a pretty good month for the Club.  We started out with a great New Years Eve party chaired by Leeanne, Randi, and Colby.  I didn't make the event, but by all accounts, the girls worked hard and the guests had a great time.  Excellent job ladies!
Our next party was Saturday, January 14th, and that was the Frozen Open.  Almost four hundred people entered the event this year with nearly fifty-three hundred dollars going to the Ronald McDonald House.  It's always a fun event and attended well by our members and friends.  As chairman of this event, I want to thank all the people who make my job easy.  It's unbelievable how many people it takes to make things run smoothly.  I am certain you will all give our new Frozen Open Chairman, Joel Edgecomb, the same support.  Hell, Debbie Sheedy has already volunteered her husband, Pat, to make a new putting hole for next year.  Thanks Debbie, I mean Pat.  I am sure there will be lots of help out there for him.
The fish fries will be starting on February 17th and will run forever, or so it seems.  They are a good source of income for the Club, so please support your Club and bring your family and friends out for a delicious meal.  Work sign-up sheets for the first two or three fry's are already posted.  People, if you sign up to work, please be there if at all possible.  That goes for all events, not just fish fry's.
The basement is getting a bit of use and I am happy to say that people are doing a good job with cleaning up after themselves and making sure it is locked up and the lights are turned off when they leave.  Remember folks, if you are the last to leave either the upstairs (even if are going downstairs) or the basement, be sure everything is as it should be.  Any suggestions or problems with the basement should be addressed to Craig Seward, as he is the board member in charge of the basement.  You’re welcome, Charlie.  It's your club, use it, but please use it responsibly.
